Lucas / Nascom - Floppy Disk Controller Card
Lucas released a floppy disk controller card based on the Western Digital 1793 FDC chip. The board was capable of driving both 5.25 and 8 inch drives, but was only supplied with 5.25 units. Originally it was thought that this was a System 80 component but was actually a new design.
It should be noted that some late Lucas Nascom machines had a hard drive option. Since the FDC has no SASI interface, a none Lucas card must have been used. No conclusive proof exists, but this was thought to be a MAP-80 FDC as this could be configured to look like a Lucas FDC but with a SASI interface.
